Nong Muyun was the little girl once held in the princess’s arms on 30 May 2010, when she presided over the opening ceremony of the “Building Morale…to Muang Khon” event and visited the infant care building inside the women’s section of Nakhon Si Thammarat Central Prison. That memorable day still deeply moves and fills Nong Muyun with pride, according to accounts from her mother, aunts, and prison officials.
From that little girl, today Nong Muyun has grown into a 16-year-old youth studying in grade 11, science-math program, at Nakhon Si Thammarat City School. She has developed good manners, excellent academic results, and spends her free time earning income by cleaning and working at a laundromat to help support her grandmother’s household.
