A Facebook user posted a video showing himself working as a DJ in Khon Kaen, where a male tourist assaulted him by repeatedly slapping his head because he was unhappy that the DJ did not play the HBD song promptly.
He stated that he was assaulted by multiple slaps to the head while working as a DJ at a venue in Khon Kaen on the night of 13 June 2026 around 1:30 a.m. After playing for about 5 to 10 minutes, an unknown person who he had never spoken to before entered the DJ booth and threatened him to play the HBD song.
The poster also clarified that the venue was not negligent in security during the chaos, as his invited team and close associates were approaching. He questioned why the assailant used his authority to threaten and treat him this way, saying he was just working to earn money to support his family.
Most recently, at 11:00 a.m. on 16 June 2026, a reporter spoke with the victim, Mr. Phatthara, 34, from Bangkok. He said the incident occurred around 1:30 a.m. on 14 June 2026 while he was DJing at an entertainment venue in Khon Kaen city. Less than 10 minutes after starting, a male tourist slapped his head three times.
Before the assault, the man requested the HBD song. The MC announced via microphone that it was Khun Linda's birthday that day. While waiting for the beat to start the HBD song, the male tourist slapped his head. He then filed an assault complaint with police before returning to work in Bangkok.
When reporting the incident at Mueang Khon Kaen Police Station, the victim saw a photo of the man who slapped him displayed at the station entrance, including his name, phone number, and his position as a police advisory board member at Mueang Khon Kaen Police Station. The victim used this information to press charges for assault.
Pol. Col. Yosawat Kaeb Suebtanyanich, chief of Mueang Khon Kaen Police Station, said the case is under investigation with summons being issued in order.
