Back Payment of Elderly Allowance Up to 400 Baht: When Will It Be Paid and Who Is Eligible?

The elderly allowance, also known as the living support allowance for low-income seniors, is set to be paid retroactively up to 400 baht. Check precisely when the money will be transferred and who qualifies to receive it.


Following the resolution by the Elderly Fund Management Committee on 24 June 2026, guidelines were approved for paying the living support allowance to low-income seniors eligible under the State Welfare Registration Project for the 2026 fiscal year, to existing eligible recipients as follows.

1. The allowance will be paid at a rate of 100 baht per month over 4 months (March–June 2026), with each senior receiving up to 400 baht according to their eligible months. The payment schedule in July 2026 will be divided into 3 rounds based on birth date groups, with funds transferred via the bank accounts the recipients provided in the consent form. Transfers may be made to joint accounts, accounts of others, or PromptPay accounts linked to their national ID numbers.

Eligibility conditions for the elderly allowance.

  • Born before 1 March 1966: eligible for 4 months, receiving a total of 400 baht.
  • Born between 1–31 March 1966: eligible for 3 months, receiving a total of 300 baht.
  • Born between 1–30 April 1966: eligible for 2 months, receiving a total of 200 baht.
  • Born between 1–31 May 1966: eligible for 1 month, receiving a total of 100 baht.

The elderly allowance payment schedule is divided into 3 rounds.

  • Round 1: payment on 13 July 2026 for eligible recipients born before 1 January 1954.

For those receiving payment via a PromptPay account linked to their 13-digit national ID number, PromptPay registration must be completed by 8 July 2026. If unable to link PromptPay, the consent form must be submitted by 2 July 2026.

  • Round 2: payment on 14 July 2026 for eligible recipients born between 1 January 1954 and 31 December 1960.

For PromptPay recipients, registration must be completed by 9 July 2026. Those unable to link PromptPay must submit the consent form by 2 July 2026.

  • Round 3: payment on 15 July 2026 for eligible recipients born between 1 January 1961 and 31 May 1966.

For PromptPay recipients, registration must be completed by 10 July 2026. Those unable to link PromptPay must submit the consent form by 2 July 2026.

Payment methods (in order):

1. Bank accounts as notified by the eligible recipients via the consent form, including joint accounts or accounts of others.

2. PromptPay accounts linked to the eligible recipients’ national ID numbers.

If any transfer fails (rejects)a second payment will be made on 31 July 2026.The elderly allowance will be transferred via 3 channels as follows:

1. Bank accounts used for receiving the elderly living allowance payments successfully transferred in July 2026 (except cash recipients).

2. Bank accounts notified by the eligible recipients through the consent form to transfer welfare payments to joint accounts or accounts of others.

3. PromptPay accounts linked to the national ID numbers.
