Dormitory Owner Shocked After Couple Tenants Move Out Leaving Room Filled with Trash and Overpowering Stench

A dormitory owner in Chiang Mai sounded an alarm after opening a rental room to find it filled with huge piles of trash and a strong foul odor following the departure of the previous tenants, a couple, who had also left the fan and air conditioner running.

On 6 Jul 2026 GMT+7, it was reported that a Facebook userKeng Indigoposted a message along with photos and videos showing a room overflowing with massive garbage piles as a warning in various social media groups in Chiang Mai province, stating: “Sharing this as a lesson. At first, I didn’t want to post, but many business owners asked for details about this tenant couple. So I’m posting details to warn and serve as a cautionary tale for dormitory owners. Beware of the bad behavior of this husband and wife pair.”

The couple consists of a large, dark-skinned man and a small, thin, dark-skinned woman, both Thai. A distinctive feature is their red motorbike—unsure if it's a Filano or Scoopy i—with many scratches. They rented in the dormitory area of #Sripingmuang #ChangKhlanChiangMai. Sometimes being kind to tenants ends up with piles of trash as big as a head left behind before they move out, leaving the air conditioner and fan running. They even urinated into bottles and left used sanitary pads all over the room. Running a dormitory isn’t as easy as it seems. I guess I’ve done a good deed by letting this go. If possible, come back and share your secret: how do you sleep in such conditions?”

And you won’t have any regrets— at Sripingmuang, Chang Khlan, Chiang Mai— at Sripingmuang, Chang Khlan, Chiang Mai.”

Recently, reporters contacted the post's owner, who explained that the dormitory is located in Chang Khlan district, Mueang Chiang Mai. The couple had rented the place for about 3-4 years but consistently failed to pay rent on time. The owner’s mother had been lenient in granting extensions, but finally could no longer tolerate it. So today, she asked the couple to move out to make room for new tenants.

After the couple left, the mother asked the owner to check the room’s condition. Upon unlocking the door, the owner found it hard to open, as if something was blocking it. When finally pushed open, a strong stench hit them. Inside, massive piles of trash covered the bed and floor, including water bottles, soda cans, used sanitary pads, and bottles filled with urine. Only the walkway was clear. Importantly, the tenants had left the fan and air conditioner running.

This shocked the owner deeply, as they had only seen such cases in the news, never expecting it to happen to their own dormitory. Therefore, they posted this on social media to warn other dormitory owners in Chiang Mai province to be cautious and prevent this couple from repeating such behavior elsewhere.

Currently, the owner and their mother are waiting for the cleaning staff to come and remove all the trash. It is expected to take about 1-2 days to clear the garbage and thoroughly clean the room.
