Pathumwan Institute of Technology has issued a strict order prohibiting students from entering the institute from 12 July to 9 August 2026, requiring them to study online to prevent disturbances related to the "Uthenthawai" area.
On 12 July 2026, reports stated that a fan pagePathumwan Institute of Technologypublished an announcement titled "Measures to Prevent Student Conflicts and Guidelines for Teaching from 12 July 2026 to 9 August 2026" by Pathumwan Institute of Technology.
Due to unrest involving students of the institute and students from Rajamangala University of Technology Tawan-ok in the Uthenthawai area, and with 1 August 2026 marking the anniversary of Pathumwan Institute of Technology's founding—an event likely to attract many students, alumni, and outsiders to the campus—this measure aims to prevent incidents that could disrupt public order and to protect the safety of students, staff, and institute property.
Under the authority granted by Section 29 of the Pathumwan Institute of Technology Act, B.E. 2547 (2004), the following announcement is made:
1. All students, regardless of program or year, are strictly prohibited from entering the institute from 12 July 2026 to 9 August 2026, and must avoid high-risk or "Red Zone" areas. Violations will result in disciplinary action under the Pathumwan Institute of Technology Student Discipline Regulations B.E. 2558 (2015) and its amendments (No. 2) B.E. 2562 (2019).
2. From 12 July to 9 August 2026, all courses will be taught online. For courses requiring practical training, instructors and related departments must modify the teaching methods using online examples or other appropriate alternatives.
3. Any issues arising from adherence to this announcement will be resolved by the institute’s rector, who holds final decision-making authority.
This announcement applies from 12 July to 9 August 2026.
Announced on 11 July 2026.
