The Meteorological Department issued Bulletin No. 9 warning of strong winds and heavy rain, revealing a list of provinces to be cautious of dangers from flash floods and flash floods caused by heavy rain.

On 12 July 2026, the Meteorological Department announced strong winds over the Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand, along with heavy to very heavy rain over the western southern region, western central region, and eastern region, in Bulletin No. 9 (effective until 15 July 2026).

From 12 to 15 July 2026, the southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand will strengthen, causing strong winds in the upper Andaman Sea with waves 2-4 meters high; in areas with thunderstorms, waves will exceed 4 meters. The upper Gulf of Thailand and lower Andaman Sea will have waves 2-3 meters high, with waves over 3 meters in thunderstorm areas. Fishermen in the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand should navigate cautiously and avoid sailing in thunderstorm zones. Small boats are advised to remain ashore during this period.

Between 12 and 14 July 2026, heavy to very heavy rain is expected in the western southern region, western central region, and eastern region, especially in Ranong, Phang Nga, Chanthaburi, Trat, and Kanchanaburi provinces. Residents in these areas should be alert to dangers from heavy and accumulated rainfall, which may cause flash floods and flash floods, particularly in foothill areas near waterways and low-lying zones.

Meanwhile, Tropical Storm “Bavi” is currently over Jiangsu Province, China, and is expected to weaken into a tropical depression and then a strong low-pressure area subsequently. This storm will not enter Thailand and thus will not directly affect Thailand’s weather. However, it will strengthen the southwest monsoon covering Thailand. Travelers to affected areas should check weather conditions before departure during this period.

For safety and to minimize potential impacts, the public is advised to plan their activities and travel carefully during this time.
