Following the project Registration for the State Welfare Card 2026 which allowed existing cardholders and vulnerable groups who were previously excluded and unable to participate in the last round to receive basic government welfare and improved quality of life, with registration open from 4 to 21 June 2026.

Recently, Mr. Winij Wisesuwanphum, Director of the Fiscal Policy Office (FPO) and spokesperson for the Ministry of Finance, revealed that the 8th/2026 meeting of the State Welfare Committee for the Grassroots Economy and Society acknowledged the registration outcomes and qualification checks for the 2026 State Welfare Card registration project.

Initially, approval was given to expand the target group by including 5,383,393 vulnerable individuals without State Welfare Cards identified by the Ministry of Interior during field registration surveys (4 - 21 June 2026) to proceed with qualification verification.

For the 2026 project eligibility screening, criteria excluding individuals ineligible for welfare benefits will be applied, including cases where parents of income earners claim tax deductions for supporting their parents.

Additionally, the Bank of Thailand's recommendations, presented to the Cabinet on 2 June 2026, were considered to revise the 100,000 baht total loan eligibility criteria by excluding agricultural loans, as these differ from typical loans; they are seasonal and sometimes serve as disaster relief, thus may not reflect true credit access or asset status like other loan types.

The Ministry of Finance is considering allowing current State Welfare Cardholders who are ineligible under the 2026 project to receive benefits under the Thai Chuea Thai Plus (60/40) program for two months (1 August - 30 September 2026), since these cardholders could not register for the Thai Chuea Thai Plus 60/40 during its registration period. This proposal will be submitted to the Cabinet before announcing registration results on 17 July 2026.
