Progress update State Welfare Registration Project for 2026 After opening registration from 4 to 21 June 2026 for existing State Welfare Card holders and target citizens who missed out in previous rounds to apply for basic state welfare benefits and improve their quality of life,
On 13 July 2026, Mr. Aekniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, revealed that at today's Cabinet meeting, the Ministry of Finance will propose conditions and criteria for eligibility for the 2026 State Welfare benefits. This review updates the Cabinet's resolution from 9 June 2026 to establish standardized screening criteria for citizens.
According to the Ministry of Finance, the aim of this review is to make screening more accurate and fair, with key points expected to be proposed to the Cabinet including:
Mr. Laworan Saengsanit, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, explained that the proposal to the Cabinet aims to finalize which criteria will be used or removed. Once approved, there will be no need to resubmit beneficiary numbers for Cabinet approval, as this responsibility lies directly with the State Welfare Committee for the Grassroots Economy and Society. The Permanent Secretary added that government databases are now fully interconnected, enabling quick and accurate screening to meet the 17 July announcement deadline.
For registrants confirming eligibility for the "State Welfare Card 2026," both existing holders and those newly registered via the Ministry of Interior, qualification results can be checked through four channels:
1. Via the "Paotang" application
2. Via the "Tang Rat" application

On 17 July 2026, qualification results will be announced via four channels, and benefits can be used starting 1 August 2026, divided into two cases as follows:
If qualified
Complete identity verification (e-KYC) from 17 July 2026 to 12 January 2027.
If not qualified
Qualified beneficiaries can start using benefits from 1 August 2026, and those approved on appeal from 1 October 2026 onwards.
