Progress Update 2026 State Welfare Registration Project After opening registration from 4 to 21 June 2026 for existing State Welfare Card holders and target groups who were missed in the previous round to apply for basic government welfare and improve their quality of life,
On 13 July 2026, Mr. Akniti Nititanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, revealed that in today’s Cabinet meeting, the Ministry of Finance will propose conditions and criteria for 2026 State Welfare Card eligibility. This reviews the previous Cabinet resolution from 9 June 2026 to establish standard criteria for screening applicants.
According to the Ministry of Finance, this review aims to make the screening more accurate and fair. Key points expected to be proposed to the Cabinet include:
Mr. Lawaron Saengsanit, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, explained that this Cabinet proposal is to finalize which criteria will be used or discarded. Once approved, there will be no need to resubmit beneficiary numbers for Cabinet approval, as this is the direct responsibility of the Public-Private State Welfare Committee for the Grassroots Economy and Society. The Permanent Secretary added that all government databases are now interconnected, enabling fast and accurate screening to meet the 17 July announcement deadline.
For registrants confirming their eligibility for the "2026 State Welfare Card," including existing holders and those previously missed who registered to participate, the Ministry of Interior allows checking eligibility results through four channels:
1. Via the "Pao Tang" application
2. Via the "Tang Rat" (State) application

On 17 July 2026, eligibility results will be announced via four channels, and benefits can be used starting 1 August 2026. There are two cases:
Case of qualifying for benefits
Identity verification (e-KYC) required from 17 July 2026 to 12 January 2027
Case of not qualifying for benefits
Qualified beneficiaries can start using benefits from 1 August 2026, and those approved on appeal can begin using benefits from 1 October 2026 onward.
