Here are 7 ways to survive in case of fire. "Fire" Remember not to run into the bathroom, as this risks being trapped inside the building, making it hard for rescue teams to reach you, possibly resulting in fatal burns.
FacebookCentral Investigation Policeposted a message about "7 Ways to Survive When a Fire Breaks Out". If you encounter a fire, immediately call the fire department at 199. They stated the following:
1. Stay calm: Quickly find a way out of the location. Once outside, do not re-enter the building to help others or retrieve belongings.
2. Inhaling smoke: Cover your mouth and nose with a wet cloth to reduce inhalation of toxic smoke. Try to stay low or crawl since oxygen stays near the floor. Then, quickly find a way out.
3. Avoid using elevators: Use the fire escape stairs instead.
4. Stop–Drop–Roll if clothes catch fire: Remove clothes immediately or lie flat on the ground and roll to extinguish flames. Do not run, as fire will spread faster.
5. Use a fire extinguisher: If the fire is small, use a fire extinguisher to control it initially.
6. Feel the doorknob before opening: If trapped in a room with fire outside, touch the wall or doorknob. If it’s hot, do not open the door, as flames could burst through.
7. Do not flee to the bathroom: Bathrooms are often located deep inside buildings, making it difficult for rescuers to reach you and increasing risk of being burned to death.
