On 15 July 2026, Surasak Pancharoenworakul, Minister of Tourism and Sports, spoke about the country's tourism promotion measures, stating that the ministry is advancing efforts to stimulate both domestic and international tourism markets to distribute income to operators and communities, reduce risks from reliance on foreign markets alone, and strengthen the sustainability of Thailand's tourism economy.
The ministry is preparing to promote the Thailand Travel Plus project to support Thai people's travel. The government will subsidize accommodation costs at 50%, not exceeding 3,000 baht per entitlement, along with providing a 500-baht digital coupon for food, transportation, or tourism services via the "Pao Tang" application. This covers all 77 provinces to stimulate spending and generate income for tourism operators nationwide.
Additionally, air travel support measures are planned for Thai travelers: those traveling to main cities will receive 400 baht per flight, and to secondary cities, 600 baht per flight, through direct booking with participating airlines. The Thailand All Connect project will also continue to support regular and charter flights to attract foreign tourists, increasing opportunities to distribute income to tourist destinations throughout Thailand.
However, the ministry will expedite implementation of these measures to promptly stimulate travel, generate income for operators, distribute funds to the grassroots economy, and strengthen confidence in Thailand as a quality and safe travel destination.
