Airport Rail Link Update: Repairs Ongoing, Service Running with One Train

The Airport Rail Link service update reports that repairs are underway to fix a malfunction, with service currently running using only one train.

This follows a technical malfunction at the turnaround point inside the Airport Rail Link maintenance center at Khlong Tan, occurring around 02:30 on 22 July 2023.

Recently, the fan pageAirport Rail Linkprovided an update on the service as of 18:30, stating that repairs are still ongoing and service continues with only one train in operation.

Regarding passenger conditions, there is currently a large buildup of passengers inbound at Suvarnabhumi station and outbound at Phaya Thai and Makkasan stations. Passengers are advised to allow extra travel time.

To facilitate travel, from 17:00 onwards, the Airport Rail Link has coordinated with the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority to increase bus services during the evening and reroute buses via the Si Rat Expressway to Suvarnabhumi station to reduce travel time (in case the Airport Rail Link system cannot resume normal service). The last shuttle service runs at 21:30. Passengers can see the schedule below. The shuttle bus service is free, with no fare or ticket purchase required.

Fare payment

Currently, the EMV system (credit/debit card tap) is temporarily unavailable. Passengers are advised to purchase tokens at ticket offices at all stations.

Passengers who have purchased tokens but choose not to travel due to service delays can request a refund by presenting the tokens to staff at any ticket office.
