The latest update: Airport Rail Link has announced it is ready to resume normal service to the public following a disruption.
On 22 July 2026, the State Railway of Thailand (SRT), SRT Electric Train Company, and Asia Era One Company announced that the Airport Rail Link has resumed normal service from 22:07. They inspected the switch lever at the turnaround point inside the Khlong Tan maintenance depot and successfully cleared the train blocking the entry–exit route, allowing normal operation between Phaya Thai and Suvarnabhumi stations.
Anan Phonnimdaeng, Governor of the State Railway of Thailand, stated that the SRT received instructions from the Deputy Minister of Transport to coordinate with all related agencies to urgently resolve the disruption and resume service as soon as possible. Throughout the day, there was cooperation from all sectors, with experts from both public and private rail systems mobilized until service was restored to normal. The cause of the disruption remains under detailed technical investigation by SRT, SRT Electric Train Company, and the company.
Asia Era One Company added that it has inspected the switch lever set and made repairs following strict safety standards under SRT supervision. They plan to replace the switch lever set at the depot’s turnaround point and consider improving the turnaround area and other risk points. They will also update backup train operation plans to prevent recurrence, ensuring passenger confidence in Airport Rail Link services under operational safety standards.
The Airport Rail Link operates daily from 05:30 to 24:00. The first trains depart the terminal stations (Phaya Thai and Suvarnabhumi) at 05:30, and the last trains depart at 24:00. Six trains run according to the schedule, with two additional trains added during peak hours based on passenger demand.
