"Sugar," the brave woman in the clip confronting an Italian teen gang on the BTS, filed a complaint at Samre Police Station. She expressed gratitude for all support and warned social media users against resorting to violence, fearing damage to the reputation of Thai people and Thailand.
The incident involved a group of Italian students visiting Thailand who were loud and disruptive on the BTS Skytrain. When a Thai female passenger asked them to be quiet, she was met with rude language and behavior, leading to a verbal altercation that sparked criticism of the students' inappropriate conduct on Thai social media.
On 25 July 2026, it was reported that Sugar, aged 25, the victim involved in the confrontation with the students, filed a complaint with the investigators at Samre Police Station.
After nearly five hours of questioning, Sugar revealed that on the day of the incident, she had just finished work and was traveling home on the BTS from Siam station to Bang Wa. At Sala Daeng station, she encountered a large group of 48 Italian students boarding the train, who were loud from the start until Chong Nonsi station. Feeling unable to tolerate it, she politely asked them in English to "please be quiet," but was met with rude replies in Italian and offensive gestures, including sexual harassment and bullying of Asians, despite her polite approach.
Among the group was an adult supervising the students who, instead of stopping or reprimanding them, sided with them, saying, "There are so many of us, how can we be quiet?" and "Sorry for bringing money to your country."
At Thonburi station, the students disembarked but continued to behave rudely as the train departed. No passengers on the train came to Sugar's aid during the incident, leaving her feeling as if she was wrong for trying to correct them.
She then decided to file a police report to pursue legal action and is currently gathering evidence to press charges against the Italian student group. She emphasized that regardless of which country foreigners visit, they must respect the rights and dignity of the local people.
After the clip was posted online, a witch hunt against the students quickly followed, prompting them to release an apology video. However, Sugar felt the apology was directed to Thailand and its people in general, not to her personally as the victim. She wishes for a more sincere apology to herself and believes the witch hunt would have been avoided if the students had respected others' rights and behaved properly.
She also thanked everyone for their support but urged people to avoid violence, as it could harm the reputation of Thai people and Thailand. She stated that a mild rebuke is sufficient and enough to address such behavior.
