27 July 2026Meteorological DepartmentAnnouncement regarding "Heavy to very heavy rain over Thailand" Effective until 30 July 2026, Announcement No. 8 states that from 27 to 30 July 2026, many areas in Thailand will experience heavy rain, with very heavy rain in some locations in the Northeast, Central, East, and the western side of the South. This is due to a monsoon trough passing through the North and upper Northeast regions, combined with the strengthening southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand. The public is advised to be cautious of dangers from heavy to very heavy rainfall and accumulated rain, which may cause flash floods and landslides, especially in hillside areas near waterways and lowland regions.
Waves in the upper Andaman Sea are quite strong, reaching heights of 2-3 meters, and over 3 meters in areas with thunderstorms. In the upper Gulf of Thailand and lower Andaman Sea, waves reach about 2 meters, rising above 2 meters in thunderstorm zones. Mariners in the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand are advised to navigate cautiously and avoid sailing in areas with thunderstorms. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea should refrain from departing during this period.
