Warning Issued for 6 Central Provinces and Bangkok to Monitor High Tides from 28 July to 1 August 2026

"Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation" (DDPM) Issues warning for six central provinces and Bangkok to remain vigilant "High tide" During 28 July - 1 August 2026

On 27 July 2026, Mr. Theeraphat Kachamat, Director-General of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, announced that DDPM is monitoring information from the Hydrographic Department of the Royal Thai Navy, which issued a statement on the water level conditions in the Chao Phraya River at Pom Phra Chulachomklao and nearby areas from 28 July to 1 August 2026 (Announcement No. 9/2569) dated 24 July 2026. It states that between 28 July and 1 August 2026, from 18:00 to 21:00 hours, high tides are expected, which may cause riverbank overflow and increased water levels in rivers and canals. This could flood low-lying areas along rivers and canals, including communities outside dike lines and areas without permanent flood defenses. The following areas require monitoring for high tide conditions during 28 July - 1 August 2026:

Six central provinces and Bangkok include:

• Pathum Thani Province (Mueang Pathum Thani and Sam Khok districts)
• Nonthaburi Province (Mueang Nonthaburi, Pak Kret, and Bang Kruai districts)
• Nakhon Pathom Province (Bang Len, Nakhon Chai Si, and Sam Phran districts)
• Samut Sakhon Province (all districts), Samut Songkhram Province (all districts)
• Samut Prakan Province (Mueang Samut Prakan, Phra Samut Chedi, Phra Pradaeng, and Bang Bo districts)

The Central Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Command (CDPMC) under the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation has coordinated to alert the six central provinces—Pathum Thani, Nonthaburi, Nakhon Pathom, Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram, and Samut Prakan—as well as Bangkok to closely monitor the high tide situation. The provinces are urged to inform residents about the timing of high tides and to warn related agencies and private sectors involved in river/canal operations, such as riverbank construction and restaurant businesses. Residents living along rivers and in flood-prone low-lying areas should remain vigilant and closely follow the situation.

Residents can follow warning announcements on the THAI DISASTER ALERT application. If affected by disasters, they can report incidents and request assistance via the LINE account "DDPM Incident Reporting 1784" by adding the Line ID @1784DDPM, or through the 24-hour emergency hotline 1784 for prompt coordination of aid.
