Update on the death of "Halun Solo" a famous travel YouTuber known for solo backpacking trips, after online communities shared news from his brother who reported losing contact with the family since 13 July 2026, when he traveled to film content in Georgia. His brother later confirmed that "Halun Solo" was found, but sadly in a state indicating he had passed away permanently, as previously reported.
Most recently, on 30 July 2026, the Facebook pageSompo Thailandposted a tribute and expressed deepest condolences, stating that Sompo Insurance (Thailand) mourns the passing of Mr. Bowornthat Pengsuk (known as Halun Solo) and extends profound sympathy to the family who lost their beloved member.
Upon learning of the incident, the company promptly coordinated with the Office of Insurance Commission (OIC) and relevant internal parties.
Currently, the company is making every effort to contact Halun's family and close associates to offer support and facilitate related matters. It is also coordinating with its network and partners in Georgia to help arrange the repatriation of the body to Thailand. The company will bear all costs associated with this process as a mark of respect and remembrance for Halun, who had been a valued partner of the company.
Regarding other coverage under the insurance policy, the company is awaiting the results of fact-finding from relevant authorities. The consideration will be in accordance with the policy's terms and conditions. At this time, the company cannot conclude its decision and will closely monitor further developments.
