State Welfare Card Benefits for August 2026

The Comptroller General's Department updates the State Welfare Program or the State Welfare Card / Poor People's Card In August 2026, eligible recipients can use their smart national ID cards to access benefits. Here's a clear breakdown of the entitlements.

Mr. Thanachok Rungthipanon, Deputy Director-General of the Comptroller General's Department and spokesperson, announced that the 2022 State Welfare registration project has extended benefit eligibility for current State Welfare Card holders until 30 September 2026 (previously 31 July 2026). Existing cardholders do not need to take any additional action. Eligible persons can access benefits through their smart national ID cards. The entitlements for August 2026 are as follows.

On 1 August 2026,

recipients receive entitlements for purchasing consumer goods and travel allowances (these cannot be withdrawn as cash nor carried over to the next month), including:

• 1,000 baht per person per month for purchasing goods, valid for four months (June - September 2026).
• An 80 baht discount per person on cooking gas every three months (July - September 2026).
• A 750 baht monthly travel allowance per person for public transport (including Bus Terminal, trains, BMTA buses, electric trains, and participating private buses).

On 20 August 2026,

• disabled recipients will receive an additional 200 baht per month.

This applies to eligible disabled persons holding official disability cards and receiving an 800 baht monthly disability allowance. The additional amount will be transferred to the bank account linked to their PromptPay with their 13-digit national ID or to the bank account used for receiving the 800 baht allowance, either personally or through an authorized representative.
