Tribute to Two Brave Tak Bai Police Officers Sgt. Hamran - Sgt. Witthaya Killed in the Line of Duty

Tribute to two brave police officers from Tak Bai Police Station "Sgt. Hamran Ha" and "Sgt. Witthaya Chaipromkaew" died in the line of duty after being shot by criminals during a drug target raid in Tak Bai District, Narathiwat Province, with 4 officers injured.

Regarding the case where Tak Bai police officers raided a drug target in Tak Bai District, Narathiwat Province, and were shot by criminals—resulting in 2 deaths and 3 injuries—authorities have been sealing off a palm plantation to capture the suspects, as previously reported (Tak Bai police officers raided a drug target and were fired upon by criminals, causing 2 deaths and 3 injuries.)

Most recently, the Internal Security Operations Command Region 4 Forward Command posted a report on their Facebook page stating progress on the case where criminals shot police during a drug target raid in Tak Bai District, Narathiwat Province, resulting in 2 deaths and 4 injuries.

On 2 August 2026, at approximately 11:48 a.m., during a drug target raid by the investigative unit of Tak Bai Police Station in Ban Bueng Chalarm, Phraiwan Subdistrict, Tak Bai District, Narathiwat Province, criminals opened fire on officers, causing 2 police deaths and injuring 4 others, including:

1. Sergeant Hamran Ha, deceased

2. Sergeant Witthaya Chaipromkaew, deceased

3. Police Corporal Traitos Kulsantwasiri, injured

4. Sergeant Wannoothit Saeko, injured

5. Police Lieutenant Kittipong Srikham, injured

6. Sergeant Phankit Srinakitja, injured

After the incident, authorities promptly provided assistance and transported the injured to Tak Bai Hospital. Related agencies secured the area, examined the scene, and thoroughly collected evidence to quickly apprehend the suspects for prosecution. They also requested public cooperation by reporting any useful information or leads to security agencies or local police stations immediately.

The Internal Security Operations Command Region 4 Forward Command expressed deepest condolences over the loss of the officers and sent their support to the families of the deceased and injured. They affirmed that security agencies will coordinate with all sectors to pursue the perpetrators through the justice system to ensure public confidence and safety in the area.

Meanwhile, the Facebook page ofthe Public Relations Division of the Royal Thai Policeposted images and messages paying tribute to the two brave Tak Bai police officers who died during a drug raid when criminals fired upon them: Sgt. Witthaya and Sgt. Hamran sacrificed their lives. The authorities have since surrounded and detained the suspects on 2 August 2026.
