The dream ended for 11 women aged 36 who complained to “Sai Mai Must Survive” after paying nearly 100,000 baht for liposuction but receiving disappointing results, causing them to avoid showing their bodies for life. Meanwhile, the surgeon who performed the procedure insisted the outcome was “satisfactory.”
On 4 Aug 2026 GMT+7, it was reported that a victim named “Pee Ying,” aged 36, filed a complaint with the Facebook page “Sai Mai Must Survive” seeking justice and assistance after falling victim to cosmetic surgery at a well-known clinic in the Lat Phrao area. She said she saw widely promoted and credible advertisements on Facebook from the clinic and agreed to undergo liposuction and abdominal muscle sculpting for an initial price of 39,999 baht.
However, upon arriving at the clinic, changing clothes, and lying on the operating table, staff approached her with additional conditions, stating that to achieve a perfect, firm, and balanced abdominal shape, she would need to pay an extra 70,000 baht. Feeling pressured and already on the operating table, she reluctantly agreed to pay the total 70,000 baht as demanded.
After the surgery, the results were far from advertised and severely flawed. Her abdominal muscles appeared crooked, the area was swollen, the structure was distorted from what was agreed upon, and the skin showed scars and an irregular shape. When trying to contact the clinic for follow-up or correction, staff refused care and cut off communication immediately—contrasting sharply with the pre-surgery period when they frequently called and messaged to promote products. When she attempted to post a warning review on the clinic’s Facebook page, the admin blocked her account and deleted her comments immediately.
Worried, the victim sought consultation from doctors at other hospitals, who unanimously agreed the scars were unsightly, with deep skin grooves, the abdomen hardened like a kidney bean, and fibrosis developed around the surgical wounds. Corrective surgery to rebuild the abdominal structure would cost over 300,000 baht.
Later, the victim and her lawyer returned to the clinic to meet the operating surgeon, presenting medical opinions from other hospitals and estimated treatment costs for corrective surgery. However, the surgeon insisted the surgical results were satisfactory to him, despite the victim’s strong dissatisfaction.
Moreover, the surgeon refused to compensate or pay damages, claiming the victim had signed consent forms before surgery. He also accused other hospitals’ medical opinions of being attempts to lure the victim as a client. He offered only to help with abdominal massage using electrical waves to adjust the shape but gave no guarantee of improvement. The victim refused to sign any further documents and challenged the surgeon to post photos of her abdomen to promote the clinic if he truly found the work satisfactory. The surgeon declined, stating only attractive photos could be posted on the clinic’s page.
The victim further revealed that after being blocked from communication channels, she found many other victims who suffered similar problems privately messaging her, including cases of misleading pricing, crooked noses, and swollen faces from substandard thread lifts. She has gathered all evidence—chat logs, payment slips, and photos of wounds—and filed complaints with the Consumer Protection Board, Social Security Office, and Medical Council to verify the surgeon’s professional license and pursue legal action. However, there has been no progress so far.
This incident severely affected the victim’s mental health. She admitted that after surgery, she no longer dared to wear sportswear or exercise clothes, completely losing her self-confidence. She is currently facing depression due to stress and anxiety over her bodily scars. She calls on the surgeon to take responsibility for damages and corrective surgery costs and urges relevant authorities to promptly address the issue for consumer protection.
