9 Aug 2026 GMT+7Meteorological Departmentissues statement on "Strong winds in the upper Andaman Sea and upper Gulf of Thailand and heavy to very heavy rainfall over Thailand" (effective until 9 Aug 2026 GMT+7) in its 11th bulletin, stating that the northern, northeastern, central, and eastern regions continue to experience heavy rain in some areas. This is due to a monsoon trough passing over the upper northern region and upper Laos, combined with a relatively strong southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand. The public is advised to be cautious of the dangers from heavy and accumulated rain that may cause flash floods and landslides, especially in hillside areas near waterways and low-lying zones.

Winds and waves in the upper Andaman Sea and upper Gulf of Thailand are quite strong, with waves 2–3 meters high, and over 3 meters in areas experiencing thunderstorms. Mariners in the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand should navigate with caution and avoid sailing in stormy areas. Small boats in the upper Andaman Sea and upper Gulf of Thailand are advised to refrain from leaving port for one more day (9 Aug 2026 GMT+7).

For safety and to minimize potential impacts, the public should plan their activities and travel during this period cautiously. They are urged to follow updates from the Meteorological Department, accessible via the website http://www.tmd.go.th or by calling 0-2399-4012-13 and 1182, available 24 hours.
