The Meteorological Department updates the path of Typhoon Dolphin which will not move into Thailand, while Tropical Storm Chan-Hom is very far away with no impact
On 9 August 2026, the Facebook pageof the Meteorological Departmentposted a message regarding Typhoon Dolphin and Tropical Storm Chan-Hom stating, "Updating the situation of tropical cyclones in the western Pacific Ocean and South China Sea,
Typhoon Dolphin (DOLPHIN) has its center east of China, about 250 kilometers from the coast of Zhejiang Province. It is moving west-northwest and is expected to make landfall on the eastern coast of China near Zhejiang this evening (it will not move into Thailand) and will gradually weaken.
Indirectly, it strengthens the currently prevailing monsoon. Travelers planning to go to eastern China, Taiwan, or the southern islands of Japan should check weather conditions and flights before traveling during this period.
Meanwhile, Tropical Storm Chan-Hom (CHAN-HOM) remains very distant with no impact on Thailand. It is expected to affect Japan and South Korea."
