Teachers Council to Present Kru Thirakun Award Honoring 5 Teachers of Debsirin Nonthaburi School

The Teachers' Council is preparing to present the "Kru Thirakun" award to honor five teachers from Debsirin Nonthaburi School who selflessly devoted themselves to protecting their students until their final moments.

On 9 Aug 2026 GMT+7, Assistant Professor Dr. Amonwan Weerathammo, Secretary-General of the Teachers' Council, revealed that the council is set to bestow the "Kru Thirakun" award to honor five teachers and staff from Debsirin Nonthaburi School. These individuals demonstrated noble deeds, dedicating themselves with the true spirit of teaching and fulfilling their duties to care for and protect their students to the very end, following an incident at Debsirin Nonthaburi School.

The Secretary-General named the five "Kru Thirakun" award recipients as Mr. Kittipong Samran, Special Expertise Deputy Director (Deputy Director of Student Affairs Management Group); Ms. Thiwaporn Wanich, Special Expertise Teacher (Guidance Counselor); Second Lieutenant Female Nanchanathporn Nakplang, Expertise Teacher (Thai Language); Ms. Praphaporn Konsila, Contract Teacher (Mathematics); and Ms. Saifon Sirikitjakorn, Student Affairs Service Officer.

Although these five teachers held different roles, they shared one common trait: performing their duties with the heart of a teacher, a strong sense of responsibility, and deep concern for student safety. Their sacrifices clearly reflect the true value of being a teacher and serve as examples of courage, morality, ethics, and accountability toward their students.

Assistant Professor Dr. Amonwan added that presenting the "Kru Thirakun" award is not merely a ceremony to honor individuals but a public declaration to society recognizing the virtue and sacrifice of teachers and educational personnel who performed their duties to the fullest, especially when facing hardship and life-threatening situations. This exemplifies the true meaning of being a teacher, whose heart goes beyond knowledge transmission to caring for, protecting, and taking responsibility for students. Standing firm in their teaching duties until their last moments is a virtue deserving of honor and remembrance.

"The Teachers' Council expresses deepest condolences to the families of the five teachers and personnel, as well as to the faculty, students, parents, and everyone connected to Debsirin Nonthaburi School. We affirm our commitment to honor their virtue, sacrifice, and the spirit of teaching publicly so that their legacy remains in the memories of students, the school, and Thai society, serving as a role model for future generations to appreciate the teaching profession," said the Secretary-General of the Teachers' Council.
