Social Media Panic After Threatening Chat of Violence Pak Kret School Issues Clarification

Social media users were deeply shaken after another threatening chat about violence surfaced. Recently, "Pak Kret School" has issued a clarification, stating the conversation was playful banter among students. The school emphasized it is taking the matter seriously and is expediting investigations and tightening security.

On 9 Aug 2026 GMT+7, a wave of concern returned to social media when the "Khon Nonthaburi News" page posted that "Another chat threatening violent acts at a well-known school in Pak Kret area has surfaced. Initially, #KhonNonthaburiNews has coordinated with the Pak Kret Police Chief."

Most recently, the Facebook pagePak Kret Schoolposted a statement saying "Regarding the news in the media, it was found to be from an open chat group of Pak Kret School students. The school is not complacent and has coordinated with Pak Kret Police Station to verify facts and closely monitor the situation, as well as to increase preventive and security measures within the school. The school will inform the public promptly if there are further developments."

Later, the school issued an official statement addressing the chat messages related to threats or plans of violence within the school, stating:

According to information circulated on social media and public pages about reported threats or discussions of planned violent acts within the school, which may cause anxiety and unease among parents, students, teachers, staff, and the general public,

Pak Kret School clarifies that, after investigation, the incident originated from student conversations within school color groups, involving teasing and talk about plans for violent acts. The students involved explained to the school that these were jokes, with no intent to carry out such acts. The school recognizes that such communication, even if playful or without real intent, can cause fear, misunderstandings, and impact the sense of safety of students, parents, and staff. Therefore, the school treats this seriously and does not ignore the incident.

Currently, the school is investigating and assessing the situation, emphasizing to students and staff their responsibility when using social media, group chats, and sharing messages potentially related to violence. The school is also enforcing its regulations and appropriate security measures.

The school requests cooperation from parents, students, and staff not to forward, share, or misinterpret unverified information that could cause misunderstandings or panic. If encountering threatening messages, images, or information related to student or staff safety, please report directly to the school for prompt and proper action.
