Thammasat University has announced operational guidelines after recent cases of students testing positive. "Influenza and COVID-19." If detected, students must rest and avoid attending classes or activities to prevent widespread transmission.
On 16 August 2026, the Facebook pageThammasat Universitypublished an announcement regarding guidelines for cases of students infected with influenza and the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
It stated that recently some students have been found infected with influenza and COVID-19, which may affect the spread of the viruses to other students or more broadly. Therefore, to prevent transmission and safeguard the safety of faculty, students, staff, and patients, Thammasat University announces the following guidelines for students infected with influenza and COVID-19.
1. In cases of students infected with influenza and COVID-19
1.1 Students who test positive and show symptoms must refrain from attending on-site classes or activities and rest until their overall condition improves and they are fever-free.
1.2 Students should notify their course instructors or relevant departments to consider adjusting their learning format to hybrid or provide compensatory activities as appropriate.
1.3 Once students have improved and return to classes, they must strictly wear masks, especially in enclosed spaces, classrooms, and crowded areas, and eat separately from others until symptoms resolve or their antigen test (ATK) results are negative.
2. Preventing the spread of infection
Students and faculty are requested to wear masks when experiencing respiratory symptoms, regularly wash hands or use alcohol-based hand sanitizers, avoid close contact when ill, and rest at home rather than attending classes or activities until symptoms improve.
Faculty members are asked to help disseminate and enforce strict adherence to these guidelines for everyone’s safety.
