On 26 Aug 2026, reporters reported that Suvarnabhumi Airport (AOT) plans to repair and maintain expansion joints on the elevated road for entering and exiting the passenger terminal, which connects to the main route from Motorway No. 7 (Bangkok - Chonburi). This aims to enhance safety standards and maintain the road infrastructure to remain robust, supporting efficient passenger and user traffic in the long term.
During the work, AOT must close 3 traffic lanes and divert vehicles to use 2 lanes as normal, which may cause some traffic slowdowns during peak usage. The repairs will be carried out in phases and alternate locations according to the plan, closing only the sections under repair and managing traffic appropriately to minimize overall travel disruption. The work will begin on 31 August 2026 and continue until 7 April 2027.
