Royal Gazette Publishes Announcement of Bank Holidays 2027 Enforced for All Financial Institutions

The Royal Gazette website has published the Bank of Thailand's announcement specifying the "Bank Holidays 2027," traditional holidays for financial institutions, which are mandatory for all such institutions in the country.

On 25 Aug 2026 GMT+7, the Royal Gazette website published the Bank of Thailand Announcement No. 37/2569 concerning traditional holidays for financial institutions and specialized financial institutions for the year 2027 CE. This announcement sets the traditional holidays for all financial institutions and specialized financial institutions under the Financial Institution Business Act for the year 2027 CE.

1. Friday, 1 January – New Year's Day

2. Monday, 22 February – Substitute holiday for Magha Puja Day (which falls on Sunday, 21 February 2027)

3. Tuesday, 6 April – Chakri Memorial Day and Commemoration of the Chakri Dynasty

4. Tuesday, 13 April – Songkran Festival

5. Wednesday, 14 April – Songkran Festival

6. Thursday, 15 April – Songkran Festival

7. Monday, 3 May – Substitute holiday for National Labor Day (originally Saturday, 1 May 2027)

8. Tuesday, 4 May – Coronation Day

9. Thursday, 20 May – Visakha Bucha Day

10. Thursday, 3 June – Birthday Anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Suthida Bajrasudhabimalalakshana

11. Monday, 19 July – Substitute holiday for Asalha Bucha Day (originally Sunday, 18 July 2027)

12. Wednesday, 28 July – Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty the King

13. Thursday, 12 August – Birthday Anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, and National Mother's Day

14. Wednesday, 13 October – King Bhumibol Memorial Day (King Rama IX Day)

15. Monday, 25 October – Substitute holiday for Chulalongkorn Day (originally Saturday, 23 October 2027)

16. Monday, 6 December – Substitute holiday for the Birthday Anniversary of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej, National Day, and Father's Day (originally Sunday, 5 December 2027)

17. Friday, 10 December – Constitution Day

18. Friday, 31 December – New Year's Eve

For the Islamic Bank of Thailand, additional holidays include Eid al-Fitr (Hari Raya Puasa) and Eid al-Adha (Hari Raya Haji) as declared by the Office of the Chularatchamontri, if these days do not coincide with the above holidays or regular weekly holidays.

Branches of all financial institutions and specialized financial institutions located in Narathiwat, Pattani, Yala, Satun, and Songkhla provinces shall additionally observe holidays for Eid al-Fitr (Hari Raya Puasa), Eid al-Adha (Hari Raya Haji) as declared by the Office of the Chularatchamontri, and Chinese New Year, if these days do not coincide with the aforementioned holidays or regular weekly holidays.

This announcement shall be effective from the day following its publication in the Royal Gazette onward.
