The details for applying to be considered for the CEO position at Thai Airways Public Company Limited are as follows.

General qualifications of applicants

1. Thai nationality (according to the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand Regulation No. 97 concerning civil aviation business licenses).

2. Not older than 65 years on the application date.

3. Possess at least a master's degree.

4. Have senior management experience in large, complex organizations, especially at N-1 level or CEO/Managing Director, with understanding of the airline business or aviation industry, as specified below.

4.1 For applicants who are or were company employees, 

  • they must currently hold or have held a level 13 position for at least 1 year as of the application closing date.

4.2 For applicants from outside the company,

  • they must be or have been executives in private or state enterprises with annual revenues of no less than 40 billion baht or total assets of no less than 200 billion baht, holding a position no lower than the second highest executive (N-1). They must provide certification from their organization, including organizational structure and financial statements or annual reports during their tenure, showing they have held such a position for at least one year as of the application closing date.

Position-specific qualifications

Applicants may possess some or several of the following qualifications; not all are required. The committee will consider knowledge, ability, experience, proven achievements, and overall suitability as follows.

  • Experience managing large, complex organizations at CEO/MD level or as the immediate subordinate executive (N-1), with preference given to those with aviation or related industry experience.
  • Ability to set organizational design direction, manage change, reshape corporate culture, and build employee engagement.
  • Capability in defining financial policies, cost management, investment, and commercial management.
  • Skill in establishing and overseeing short-, medium-, and long-term strategies to drive new growth through market expansion, strategic partnerships, and joint ventures.
  • Oversight of business operations in an international context and management of relationships with the board, regulators, and stakeholders.
  • Direction in applying technology and digital tools to enhance competitiveness, data utilization, and cyber security governance.
  • Operations ensuring safety, reliability, risk management, crisis management, and sustainable business practices in environmental, social, and governance dimensions.
  • Commitment to ethics, honesty, transparency, and responsibility, leading under good governance and legal compliance principles.
  • Proficiency in English communication and work at a very good level.

Required application documents

  1. Resume/CV detailing work experience.
  2. Complete transcript; if educated abroad, must include credential evaluation from the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation.
  3. Certification from current organization.
  4. Organizational structure.
  5. Financial statements or annual reports.
  6. Past achievements.
  7. Reference letters from two individuals, issued within the last three years.
  8. Vision statement demonstrating knowledge and plans related to the aviation business.
