From 4–7 September 2026, upper Thailand will experience heavy to very heavy rain in some areas, especially in the northern and northeastern regions. This is due to a monsoon trough crossing the north and upper northeast, combined with a moderate southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand.
Residents in these areas are urged to be cautious of heavy to very heavy rainfall and accumulated rain, which may cause flash floods and forest runoff, particularly in hillside areas near waterways and low-lying zones. Avoid traveling through frequently flooded routes, especially in low-lying areas prone to short-term flooding.
Meanwhile, Tropical Storm "Sodel" in the upper South China Sea is expected to make landfall in southern China tonight (3 September 2026) and is likely to weaken into a depression. Travelers to that area should check weather conditions before departure. This storm will not move into Thailand.
