Beware of becoming a victim of scams. "Doctor Khongkwan" posted a cautionary story after being deceived by scammers into transferring 50,000 baht in a fake brand-name watch auction from a fraudulent page, also sharing initial remedies. The genuine store commented warning about the scam and revealed they have filed a police report.
On 8 Sep 2026 GMT+7, Dr. Khongkwan Fujitinran, also known as Doctor Khongkwan, posted a warning story on her Facebook page.DoctorkatekateShe stated, "I was just scammed out of 50,000 baht by fraudsters."
The scammers impersonated a trusted store with a physical location and a page followed by hundreds of thousands (see photo in comments). They auctioned brand-name watches. I casually placed a bid, then received a message that I won the auction. Being Doctor Khongkwan, I transferred the money quickly.
In the end, when I called the store, they said I was scammed (so why didn’t I call before transferring?). Let this be a lesson—don’t be as foolish as I was.
But if you’ve already been fooled, do the following:
- Contact your bank as soon as possible (even though I use RM private bank, I think it was too late to freeze the transaction).
- Call 1441 to report online.
- Collect evidence and file a report at the local police station.
- Prepare yourself emotionally. That's it.
After the post was shared, many people commented, some saying they had been scammed too and shared their cautionary tales. Others expressed understanding, saying there are times when we let our guard down and become victims.
Later, a Facebook user commented, "As the owner of the original video, first, my condolences to the doctor. Our store has taken this seriously, filed a police report, and continuously warns through all channels that we do not auction products. I also warn on every clip that our store does not hold auctions. However, scammers find ways to misuse our clips to deceive people. I urge everyone to stay alert; if the price seems too good to be true, do not fall for scams. If you have been scammed, follow the steps Doctor Khongkwan recommended as quickly as possible."
