Thairath Online conducted a survey on extending the "Thai Chuey Thai Plus" 60/40 program. 55.2% of respondents agreed to extend the program by an additional 1-3 months, just in time for the New Year celebrations. After Thairath Online surveyed public opinion on the "Thai Chuey Thai Plus 60/40" program to ask whether people agree to extend it by 1-2 months, the survey was conducted on Facebook users (https://www.facebook.com/share/p/1HwQLXzkui/) with 5,496 comments collected from 11 September until midnight of 12 September.
The results were as follows: 55.2% strongly agreed and wanted an extension of 1-3 months to help reduce living expenses and stimulate daily spending; 31.5% asked for details about eligibility, such as when the rights expire, how to register, where to check eligibility, payment times, or whether state welfare cardholders would also get an extension.
11.3% expressed concerns about tax burdens, fiscal debt, or saw the program as a form of long-term money distribution; 1.6% were merchants requesting adjusted spending ratios (e.g., 50/50), increased spending limits for shops, and concerns about tax calculations for merchants; 0.4% reported technical issues and difficulties accessing benefits, such as failed identity verification, early exhaustion of funds, or problems with the Paotang app or scanning.
Regarding the latest progress, Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Ekniti Nitithanprapas said the "Thai Chuey Thai Plus" Phase 2 program is currently under review and confirmed no final decision has been made yet.
When asked about the previously mentioned lack of budget, Ekniti noted that there is remaining budget from the 200 billion baht loan decree used earlier. The duration of any program extension—whether one or two months—is still being considered, with an overall economic assessment to be taken into account as well.
