On 13 September 2026, heavy to very heavy rain is expected in some areas of the eastern and southern regions. The northeastern region, central region, including Bangkok and its vicinity, will experience heavy rain in certain places. This is due to high pressure or a cold air mass spreading from China covering upper northern and upper northeastern Thailand, while a monsoon trough passes over lower central and upper southern regions, the upper Gulf of Thailand, and the eastern region, reaching a strong low-pressure area near the central coast of Vietnam. Additionally, the southwest monsoon blowing over the Andaman Sea, southern region, and Gulf of Thailand is strengthening.
The public should be cautious of the heavy to very heavy rain and accumulated rainfall, which may cause flash floods and mudslides. People living near foothills and water flow paths, as well as low-lying areas, should avoid traveling on frequently flooded routes, especially lowlands that may experience short-term waterlogging.
Meanwhile, the strong low-pressure area near the central coast of Vietnam is expected to intensify into a tropical cyclone and likely approach northern Vietnam between 13–14 September 2026. The public is advised to continuously monitor weather forecasts during this period.
