Latest update on the situation. "Thai Help Thai Plus Phase 2" is preparing for a 2-month extension, granting a one-time 1,000 baht entitlement to be used under the original 60:40 spending rule within the 2-month timeframe.

An update on the progress of the Thai Help Thai Plus project, or "Thai Help Thai Plus Phase 2" After the Ministry of Finance prepared to propose extending the Thai Help Thai Plus 60/40 measure to the Cabinet for approval, using existing budget funds, it is expected that the measure will be renewed for 2 months with spending conditions remaining the same.

"Thai Help Thai Plus Phase 2" plans to allocate 1,000 baht with usage rights valid for 2 months.

On 18 Sep 2026 GMT+7, Mr. Ekaphop Piansip, spokesman for the Prime Minister's Office, revealed details regarding the "Thai Help Thai Plus Phase 2" project. He said the details must await final consideration by the loan expenditure screening committee under the Royal Decree before approval.

He added that after discussions with Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Mr. Akniti Nitithanprapas, it is expected that the entitlement will be 1,000 baht to be used within 2 months under the same 60:40 criteria. State welfare card holders will receive a 700 baht top-up added to their regular 300 baht benefit, totaling 1,000 baht as before.

When asked if budget reallocation would be needed for this extension, Mr. Ekaphop confirmed no additional funds would be drawn. The calculated amount of 1,000 baht for 2 months would open more opportunities for usage.

Meanwhile, Mr. Lawanorn Saengsanit, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Finance, said he would discuss this issue with the Finance Minister this afternoon.
