Update on the progress of the Thai Chuey Thai Plus project, or "Thai Chuey Thai Plus Phase 2" After the Ministry of Finance prepares to propose extending the Thai Chuey Thai Plus 60/40 measure to the Cabinet for approval, using existing budget funds, it is expected to extend the measure for two months.
On 18 Sep 2026, Mr. Ekaphop Pianpiset, spokesman for the Prime Minister's Office, revealed details about the "Thai Chuey Thai Plus Phase 2" project, stating that details must await final consideration by the committee reviewing the loan spending under the emergency decree.
In discussions with Mr. Akniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, it is expected that the benefit will be 1,000 baht over two months under the 60:40 scheme as before. State Welfare Cardholders will receive 700 baht credited to their cards in addition to the usual 300 baht, totaling 1,000 baht, effective from 1 Oct 2026.
Further clarity will come after the Cabinet meeting on 22 Sep 2026.
For those who do not meet the State Welfare Card eligibility or 'poor people's card', they will also receive Thai Chuey Thai Plus benefits, but details on whether additional registration is needed or if they can receive benefits directly through the Paotang app are awaited.
However, non-eligible individuals can download and register on the Paotang app in advance, since spending under the Thai Chuey Thai Plus 60/40 scheme must be done through the Paotang app only.
To register for the "Thai Chuey Thai Plus (60/40)" program and use the benefits, applicants must use the Paotang app. The installation steps are as follows:
1. Open the APP Store or Google Play/Play Store on a smartphone with Android version 10.0 or higher, or iOS version 15.0 or higher.
2. Search for "Paotang" in the search bar.
3. Select "GET" or "Install".
4. Once installed, open the Paotang app.
5. Give consent to manage identity verification data.
6. Prepare your national ID card.
7. Take a photo of the front of your national ID card to verify your identity.
8. Check the ID number and enter your phone number to receive an OTP code.
9. Enter the 6-digit OTP code received on your phone.
10. Fill in the national ID card information.
11. Choose a method for identity verification.
1. Log into Krungthai NEXT.
2. Enter your Krungthai NEXT PIN.
3. Press the proceed button on the Paotang app.
4. Enter the OTP sent to the phone number linked to your Krungthai NEXT account.
5. Set a new PIN.
6. Confirm the PIN.
*Customers must use a Krungthai NEXT account registered with the same national ID number as on the Paotang app.
