
MRT has announced a temporary suspension of service at all stations following a fire along the railway line between Tao Poon and Bang Pho stations.

At 12:20 PM on 20 September 2026, a fire broke out on the train tracks at Tao Poon Station, in front of Chewathai Condo, along Pracharat Sai 2 Road, Bang Sue Subdistrict, Bang Sue District. Firefighters and rescue personnel from Bang Pho Station are heading to the scene.
Later, at 12:43 PM, the fire was caused by an electrical short circuit in the power cables on the train tracks at Pracharat Sai 2 Road. Firefighters have accessed the electrical control room at the station and are using thermal cameras and smoke exhaust equipment at the scene.
At 12:46 PM, due to the electrical short circuit on the train tracks at Pracharat Sai 2 Road, Tao Poon Station has temporarily suspended train services.
Additional reports state that at 12:53 PM, the fan pageBEM Bangkok Expressway and Metroinformed that BEM is notifying passengers that MRT train services are temporarily suspended at all stations due to the fire along the railway line between Tao Poon and Bang Pho stations.
Currently, teams and relevant agencies are urgently inspecting and managing the situation, prioritizing the safety of passengers and staff.
