Yesterday (22 September 2026), Dr. Akniti Nitithanprapas, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance, revealed that the Cabinet approved the reduction of the previously approved budget framework for implementing the Thai Chuey Thai Plus (60/40) project and approved the "Thai Chuey Thai Plus (Additional)" project.
The Thai Chuey Thai Plus (Additional) project focuses on 1. Assisting and alleviating impacts on vulnerable groups via the State Welfare Card system, and 2. Easing expenses and supporting purchasing power of the public, as well as helping small vendors continue their businesses to maintain the country's economic stability through the Thai Chuey Thai Plus (60/40) (Additional) project, with details as follows.
The objective is to aid low-income individuals who are vulnerable in income, assets, and debts, and thus severely affected by ongoing energy price volatility. The project increases the purchase limit for goods from Blue Flag Discount Stores, local economic development shops, and other stores designated by the Ministry of Commerce for eligible registrants under the 2026 State Welfare Card program who qualify before 1 October 2026, by 1,000 baht per person per month (up from the original 300 baht per person per month plus an additional 700 baht) in October 2026.
The duration of the Thai Chuey Thai Plus (60/40) (Additional) project is from 1 October to 30 November 2026, with details as follows.
1) Must be Thai nationals.
2) Must be at least 18 years old on the date of confirmation to join the Thai Chuey Thai Plus (60/40) (Additional) project.
3) Must possess an identification card.
4) Must not have had rights suspended or funds reclaimed in government projects, including (1) Khon La Khrueng (Half-Half) Phase 1, (2) Phase 2, (3) Phase 3, (4) Phase 4,
5) Khon La Khrueng Phase 5,
6) Khon La Khrueng Plus,
7) Thai Chuey Thai Plus (60/40).
The government supports co-payment for food, beverages, goods, and specified services at 60%, capped at 200 baht per person per day and no more than 1,000 baht per person total. Spending is valid at participating stores in the Thai Chuey Thai Plus (60/40) (Additional) project during October-November 2026 (2 months) via the "Paotang" app for purchasing eligible items or through approved Food Delivery platforms, which receive payment via the "Tung Ngern" app. The Ministry of Finance, via the Comptroller General's Department, will transfer the government's co-payment funds to participating vendors within the specified period.
