This is due to a strong low-pressure system over the East moving to cover the lower Northeast and Central regions, including Bangkok and its vicinity, along the monsoon trough passing through upper Thailand, while the southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, South, and Gulf of Thailand is intensifying.
People across Thailand are urged to be cautious of heavy to very heavy rain and continuous accumulated rainfall that may cause flash floods and mountain runoff floods, especially in foothill areas near waterways and lowlands. Avoid traveling on routes prone to repeated flooding, particularly low-lying areas that may experience short-term waterlogging.
Winds and waves in the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand will strengthen, with waves 2-3 meters high in the upper Gulf of Thailand and upper Andaman Sea, and over 3 meters where thunderstorms occur. In the lower Gulf of Thailand and lower Andaman Sea, waves reach about 2 meters, exceeding 2 meters in thunderstorms. Mariners in these areas should navigate cautiously and avoid sailing in stormy conditions. Small boats in the upper Gulf of Thailand and upper Andaman Sea should not depart until 27 September 2026.
