An update on Phetchaburi Road shows that both inbound and outbound lanes remain flooded with water approximately 40-50 centimeters deep. Over 100 cars have stalled, and authorities recommend avoiding this route.
At 09:30 on 27 Sep, Pol. Col. Uramphon Khundechsamerit, Superintendent of Makkasan Police Station, along with traffic police, inspected the flooding situation on Phetchaburi Road.
Pol. Col. Uramphon said that both inbound and outbound lanes of Phetchaburi Road are flooded with water 40-50 centimeters high, from Thonglor Intersection to the bridge over Khlong Tan Intersection. Small vehicles are advised not to use this route.
Upon inspecting the flooded stretch of Phetchaburi Road, about 100 cars were found stalled on the road. Efforts are underway to use tow trucks to remove vehicles from the roadway. Nearby police stations are coordinating additional tow trucks to help gradually clear the area. If vehicles cannot be towed out immediately, they will be moved to the far left lane first to open the rightmost lane for traffic. As water levels recede, vehicles will be able to use the road again. Currently, water marks on the stalled cars indicate that the floodwater on the road surface is starting to decrease.
