The Governor of Nonthaburi Province signed a declaration from the Nonthaburi Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Command Center, designating flood disaster zones in Mueang Nonthaburi and Pak Kret districts.
On 27 September 2026, Mr. Chettha Moligrat, Governor of Nonthaburi Province, signed a declaration from the Nonthaburi Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Command Center regarding flood disaster zones in Mueang Nonthaburi district.
The declaration states that flooding occurred due to continuous heavy rainfall and high water levels in the Chao Phraya River, causing water to accumulate around homes on 25 September 2026 in the Nonthaburi Municipality area, including Suan Yai, Bang Khen, Bang Kraso, Talat Khwan, and Tha Sai subdistricts of Mueang Nonthaburi district, Nonthaburi Province. This situation affected the public, posing threats to life and causing damage to property belonging to residents or the state, constituting a disaster under the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Act B.E. 2550 (2007).
Therefore, to facilitate disaster management in accordance with the National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Plan, the governor has declared the affected area a disaster zone. This enables government agencies, local administrative organizations, and related private sectors to act within their authority under the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Act B.E. 2550, the National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Plan, the provincial plan, and other relevant laws, regulations, orders, announcements, and Cabinet resolutions promptly.
Additionally, Governor Chettha Moligrat signed a similar declaration from the Nonthaburi Provincial Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Command Center regarding flood disaster zones in Pak Kret district.
Flooding occurred due to continuous heavy rain and elevated water levels in the Chao Phraya River, causing water accumulation around homes on 25 September 2026 in the Pak Kret Municipality area, including Pak Kret, Bang Talat, Khlong Kluea, and Ban Mai subdistricts of Pak Kret district, Nonthaburi Province. This affected the public, endangering life and causing damage to property belonging to residents or the state, constituting a disaster under the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Act B.E. 2550.
Therefore, to ensure effective disaster management under the National Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Plan, the governor declared the affected areas disaster zones. This allows government agencies, local administrative organizations, and relevant private sectors to act within their authority under the Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Act B.E. 2550, the national and provincial disaster plans, or other related plans, as well as applicable laws, regulations, orders, announcements, and Cabinet resolutions without delay.
