The Fuel Fund Committee has approved raising retail fuel prices by 0.75 baht per liter across all fuel types in response to the prolonged Middle East conflict, which has driven global oil prices higher.
On 1 Oct 2026 GMT+7, the Fuel Fund Management Committee approved a 0.75 baht per liter increase in retail prices for all fuel types.
This price increase results from escalating tensions in the Middle East region and the ongoing uncertainty surrounding indirect peace talks between the United States and Iran, which have yet to show clear progress, raising concerns that the conflict will prolong and disrupt energy supply chains again.
Furthermore, the U.S. continues to intensify economic pressure measures and urges European allies to release oil from strategic reserves. On 1 Oct 2026 GMT+7, Singapore market diesel prices surged above 179 U.S. dollars per barrel, and gasoline exceeded 157 U.S. dollars per barrel. This has heavily impacted the Fuel Fund's liquidity, forcing it to cover compensation costs of approximately 430.14 million baht daily, making it urgent to reduce these burdens to maintain the fund's liquidity and stabilize prices long-term amid volatile global fuel markets.
For diesel fuels, the compensation for regular diesel increased by 0.28 baht per liter to 4.07 baht per liter, resulting in a retail price of 42.19 baht per liter. B20 diesel compensation rose by 0.15 baht per liter to 8.14 baht per liter, setting the retail price at 37.19 baht per liter. Premium diesel carries a fixed levy of 1.50 baht per liter.
In the gasoline and Gasohol group, gasoline levies decreased by 0.79 baht per liter to 1.50 baht per liter, making the retail price 49.68 baht per liter. Gasohol 95 compensation increased by 0.69 baht per liter to 5.04 baht per liter, resulting in a retail price of 40.69 baht per liter. Gasohol 91 compensation rose by 0.69 baht per liter to 5.04 baht per liter, with a retail price of 40.32 baht per liter. Gasohol E20 compensation increased by 0.59 baht per liter to 8.03 baht per liter, setting the retail price at 35.69 baht per liter. Gasohol E85 compensation rose by 0.01 baht per liter to 2.58 baht per liter, leading to a retail price of 31.63 baht per liter. These new Fuel Fund rates take effect from 2 Oct 2026 GMT+7.
Given the ongoing volatility of global oil prices, the Fuel Fund requests cooperation from all sectors of the public to use fuel efficiently and only as necessary. This approach not only helps reduce individual expenses but also lessens national burdens and strengthens the Fuel Fund's resilience to sustainably support all citizens in the future.
