The Meteorological Department warns in Issue 9 of heavy to very heavy rain from 21-25 October. Check the list of provinces at risk of flash floods and landslides caused by flash floods.

From 21-25 October 2026, the southern region will experience continuous rain with some areas receiving heavy to very heavy rainfall. The lower northeastern region, lower central region, including Bangkok and its vicinity, the eastern region, and upper southern region will see increased rain and occasional strong gusty winds.

Residents in these areas are advised to beware of dangers from strong gusts, heavy to very heavy rain, and continuous accumulated rainfall that may cause flash floods and landslides in foothill and low-lying areas.

This is due to a monsoon trough passing through the central southern region, combined with the southwest monsoon covering the lower Andaman Sea. Meanwhile, a high-pressure system or cold air mass from China extends over the upper northern region, upper northeastern region, and South China Sea, resulting in easterly winds covering Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand.

Waves in the Andaman Sea and Gulf of Thailand areas with thunderstorms will exceed 3 meters high. Mariners in these waters should navigate with caution and avoid areas with thunderstorms.
