Meteorological Department Issues Warning No. 13: Unstable Weather in Upper Thailand and Heavy to Very Heavy Rain in the South from 7-9 Nov

The Meteorological Department announced Warning No. 13, noting that the weather remains unstable in upper Thailand, particularly in the North and Central regions, with thunderstorms, strong gusts, and heavy rain in some areas, while rainfall increases in the South.

7 Nov 2026 GMT+7Meteorological DepartmentAnnouncement No. 13 regarding unstable weather in upper Thailand and heavy to very heavy rainfall in the South (effective 7-9 Nov 2026).

The upper Thailand region continues to experience unstable weather, especially in the North and Central regions, characterized by thunderstorms, strong gusts, and heavy rain in some places. The public is advised to be cautious of dangers from thunderstorms and strong winds, and to avoid open areas, large trees, and unstable billboards.

From 7 to 9 Nov 2026, the South will see increased rainfall and heavy rain in many areas, with some places experiencing very heavy rain. People should be wary of accumulated rain that could cause flash floods and landslides, especially in foothill areas near waterways and lowlands.

This is due to a high-pressure system or a cold air mass from China spreading over upper Thailand and the South China Sea, strengthening the east winds covering Thailand and the Gulf of Thailand.

Waves in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand, in areas with thunderstorms, will be higher than 2 meters. Mariners in these seas should check their routes and navigate with caution, avoiding stormy areas.

For safety and to reduce potential impacts, the public is urged to plan their activities and travel carefully during this period and to continuously monitor announcements from the Meteorological Department via their website.https://www.tmd.go.thor call 0-2399-4012-13 and hotline 1182, available 24 hours.
