Kaeng Krachan National Park Reveals Photos of Black Panther Sightings, Underscoring Forest Richness

Kaeng Krachan National Park has released images of a "Black Panther" making an appearance, emphasizing top-level safety measures and welcoming tourists to confidently enjoy nature.

On 8 Nov 2026, Mr. Mongkol Chaiphakdee, Chief of Kaeng Krachan National Park, stated that while the sixth elephant deterrent unit was patrolling to ensure safety and assist tourists within the park along the nature trail at kilometers 21-22, a black panther appeared by the roadside, thrilling everyone amid the lush forest environment. On 7 Nov, a foreign tourist named Mr. Landru Guca, who speaks Thai well, visited alone in his private car and also captured photos of the black panther.

Mr. Mongkol Chaiphakdee said that Kaeng Krachan's forest has high biodiversity and is home to many protected wildlife species. The park continuously implements conservation and restoration measures, including the Smart Patrol quality patrol teams and specialized units like the sixth elephant deterrent unit, which monitor the area, safeguard tourists' lives and property, and prevent conflicts between people and wildlife.

Regarding the foreign tourist, although traveling alone, his good command of Thai and strict adherence to park rules—especially remaining inside his vehicle and keeping quiet to avoid disturbing wildlife—allowed him to safely appreciate the natural beauty. All park staff rigorously patrolled the entire route to ensure maximum safety confidence for all visitors.

Furthermore, Kaeng Krachan National Park continues to enhance safety measures and increase patrol frequency. The park also publicly requests tourists to strictly follow regulations, such as driving slowly, not exiting vehicles in risky areas, and refraining from loud noises to prevent dangers from wildlife encounters. The park remains committed to maintaining management standards to accommodate tourists seeking to explore and experience the wonders of Kaeng Krachan's forest with confidence and safety throughout their visit.
