Pheu Thai Promises 30% Profit Guarantee for Farmers, Launches Campaign with Candidate Yotsanan in Suphanburi New Opportunity Party Confident

Pheu Thai kicked off its campaign by introducing candidate Yotsanan at the first venues in Ayutthaya and Suphanburi, unveiling the "30% profit guarantee for agricultural products" policy and distributing two coupons for purchasing fertilizer and seeds applicable to all agricultural products. Dr. Chen expressed confidence in empowering farmers to stand on their own feet and pledged to continue a three-year debt moratorium of 500,000 baht. The campaign was lively, appealing to the people of Suphanburi to embrace change. Chulapan expressed confidence that Pheu Thai's momentum would win the hearts of the people. Chaturon resigned as strategic chairman. Polls in Bangkok and nationwide showed Nattapong and the People’s Party still leading, with Pheu Thai citing nearly 50% undecided voters. Democrat Party welcomed the opportunity to try again in Bangkok. Abhisit urged Thais to reject the old system. "Polt Toom" declared the party is not a bureaucratic graveyard. The Election Commission revealed nearly 100,000 early voters registered on day one, almost reaching that number.

Pheu Thai launched its campaign by introducing Mr. Yotsanan Wongsawat as the prime minister candidate at the first venues in Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya and Suphanburi provinces. The party announced its policy of a 30% profit guarantee on agricultural products and distributed two coupons—one for fertilizer and one for seeds—aiming to win the support of farmers to secure victory in the election.

Yotsanan campaigned publicly for the first time.

At 9:00 a.m. on 21 Dec 2025 GMT+7, in Chaina Subdistrict, Sena District, Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya Province, Mr. Yotsanan Wongsawat, Pheu Thai's prime minister candidate, together with Mr. Chulapan Amornwiwat, the party leader and prime minister candidate, party executives, and prospective MPs such as Mr. Jakrapong Sangmanee, deputy party leader, and Mr. Anucha Nakasai, former Deputy Minister of Agriculture, visited the area to meet locals and discuss water management strategies. This marked Yotsanan’s first campaign visit. Residents raised concerns about flood impacts, as the area serves as a water catchment zone. They requested better water distribution to other areas to reduce prolonged flooding and asked for improved compensation measures, noting that payouts are typically made only after floodwaters recede.

Seeing firsthand to craft policies.

Mr. Yotsanan stated that policymaking done solely in offices fails to clearly reveal the people's hardships. Today, they came to listen directly to the public’s problems to see for themselves and prioritize actions accordingly, aiming for citizens’ well-being. Regarding agricultural product prices, the entire system must be managed, including low prices, off-season planting, and negotiations with trade partners. For flood situations, compensation must be appropriate. A comprehensive water management system is necessary for clarity. Addressing water issues is not only about Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya but also concerns upstream sources. Previously, a large-scale water mega-project was halted.

Highlighting the "30% profit guarantee on agricultural products" policy.

Mr. Chulapan said the government must understand that while border issues exist, the people behind them cannot be forgotten. For example, Sena residents have endured waterlogged conditions for three months, as have those in Hat Yai. The government must expedite relief efforts. Although 9,000 baht compensation has been disbursed, the promised 20,000 baht has not yet been received; he urged prompt action as the suffering cannot wait. Regarding crop prices, during Ms. Yingluck Shinawatra’s tenure as prime minister, the rice pledging scheme ensured funds reached farmers. That system no longer exists and must be replaced. Today, Pheu Thai unveils the agriculture policy of a 30% profit guarantee on agricultural products, which will be actively pursued. The party is ready to resolve both crop prices and water management if given the opportunity to govern.

Anucha endorses the competence of this candidate.

Mr. Anucha stated he understands the lives of farmers who are the country’s primary consumers, calling them the nation’s first ring of currency. He explained why many think of former Prime Ministers Thaksin and Yingluck Shinawatra, as they ensured a good quality of life and hope for the future. He said Yotsanan is our prime minister-to-be; after discussions, he acknowledged Yotsanan’s intelligence and vision. He emphasized that Yotsanan thinks scientifically and mathematically without guesswork or predictions, which makes him highly respected. He assured that Thailand will gain a capable leader and urged all Thais to support this prime minister candidate and bring Pheu Thai back as the sole ruling party to ensure farmers live well.

30% profit guarantee to enable self-reliance.

At 10:40 a.m., Mr. Yotsanan and his team traveled to Ban Pho Subdistrict, Mueang Suphanburi District, where the team of prospective Suphanburi MPs, including Mr. Prayoon Insakul, Mr. Chaiporn Sithan, and Ms. Kulthida Maophet, welcomed them. They engaged in roundtable discussions with local representatives and farmers about agricultural product issues and management. Mr. Yotsanan stated that problems such as flooding, drought, and transportation were raised by prospective MPs to inform policy development tailored to the area. Science will be applied to rice varieties and fertilizers, along with early warning systems to prevent damage. The 30% agricultural product profit guarantee policy aims to empower farmers to stand on their own feet. It is the government’s duty, with the Ministry of Agriculture and Ministry of Foreign Affairs collaborating. Preparations have begun and will proceed immediately once Pheu Thai assumes government.

Applicable to all types of agricultural products.

Mr. Chulapan explained that Pheu Thai’s agricultural policy, to be submitted to the Election Commission, is a 30% profit guarantee on agricultural products. Farmers will receive two coupons: one for 250 kilograms of fertilizer per person and another for strong seeds from the state. Additionally, there is a debt moratorium policy granting farmers a 500,000 baht debt relief over three years without principal or interest payments. This policy offers hope to the public. Pheu Thai has never abandoned farmers, as their voter base is rooted in agriculture. The 30% profit guarantee applies to all types of agricultural products.

Energetic appeal to Suphanburi residents to embrace change.

Later, Mr. Yotsanan and his team went to the sermon hall at Wat Pho Tha Sai to address a full house of locals. Yotsanan called out, “Give me a shout, people of Suphanburi! Who says I don’t speak loudly enough? Mr. Chulapan told me this time the campaign isn’t a lecture—he feared people might fall asleep. Today is truly the first time I meet all of you. We came to Suphanburi first because it is the country’s rice bowl and a historic province. I want the people to see that if Suphanburi can change, Thailand can definitely change. When traveling abroad, people speak positively about Thailand, saying we have the heart of the nation. My vision puts farmers first so they can move forward. Mr. Chulapan and I will have your back—no backstabbing. I will work with the team at home to fully develop science and technology, improving agricultural machinery to increase yields.”

Preparing to submit campaign policies to the Election Commission.

Mr. Yotsanan said his visits to Phra Nakhon Si Ayutthaya and Suphanburi were his first, allowing him to understand local issues to tailor policies closely aligned with public needs before submitting them to the Election Commission. When asked if Pheu Thai could firmly establish itself against powerful local clans, especially in Suphanburi, he replied that mechanisms must be put in place to make that possible. The party selects qualified candidates with understanding and accessibility to the people and maintains consistency, believing this will win public support. When pressed about the local clans shifting to the Bhumjaithai Party and some dissatisfaction in the area, Yotsanan said Pheu Thai has moved past that. The focus is on crafting policies for the people and selecting capable candidates who can effectively solve problems, confident they will win people’s hearts.

Chaturon resigns as strategic chairman.

Meanwhile, Mr. Chaturon Chaisang, chairman of Pheu Thai’s strategy committee, posted on social media announcing his resignation from the position. He expressed gratitude and honor in working with all involved. However, after serving for some time, he observed that party leaders had already extensively developed party and election strategies. The sudden dissolution of parliament made it difficult to revise strategies. Taking the strategic chairmanship at this point would be like changing horses mid-battle, inconsistent with pre-set strategies. Additionally, given his involvement in campaigning for the constitutional referendum held alongside the election, he anticipated less time to dedicate to the party and thus resigned effective 15 Dec 2025 GMT+7.

Son of Tawee and Poomtham on Pheu Thai party list.

Simultaneously, the Bhumjaithai Party released its 100-person party-list MP candidates alphabetically, with party leader and prime minister candidate Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul at number 1 and party secretary Mr. Chaiyachon Chidchob at number 2, along with other key figures such as Ms. Sabida Thaiset, Minister of Higher Education Mr. Surasak Pancharoenworakul, and local clan leaders: Mr. Santi Promphat from Phetchabun group, Mr. Warawut Silpa-archa from Suphanburi group, Mr. Phaedimchai Sasomsap, Mr. Eknat Phompun, Ms. Pitcharat Laopongchana, Mr. Pongsakorn Arnanoppar, Mr. Pinij Chanthasurin, and Mr. Krisda Leenawarat, former mayor of Thanyaburi.

Bangkok poll: Nattapong and People’s Party still lead.

On the same day, NIDA Poll released results of a survey on "Political Trends in Bangkok" among 2,000 eligible voters aged 18 and over across various education, occupation, and income levels, conducted between 15-18 Dec 2025 GMT+7. Regarding party support, 40.20% had no preferred party, 26.25% supported the People’s Party, 10.05% Bhumjaithai, 9.55% Democrat Party, and 6.85% Pheu Thai.

Consistent with nationwide survey results.

Suan Dusit Poll surveyed 2,232 people nationwide on "If the election were held on 8 Feb 2026" between 16-19 Dec 2025 GMT+7. Results showed 24.55% would vote for the People’s Party, 21.62% for Pheu Thai, and 17.74% for Bhumjaithai. Regarding constituency MP votes, 23.48% chose the People’s Party, 21.53% Pheu Thai, and 16.04% Bhumjaithai. For preferred next prime minister, 23.97% supported Mr. Nattapong Ruangpanyawut, 21.95% Mr. Yotsanan Wongsawat, and 16.25% Mr. Anutin Charnvirakul.

Pheu Thai notes many voters remain undecided.

Mr. Chulapan Amornwiwat, prime minister candidate and Pheu Thai party leader, commented on the polls, saying they offer insights but are not definitive. Elections are in the hands of the people, so understanding and engaging voters is essential. After candidate introductions and number assignments, the party will campaign locally, conveying policies to the public. He expressed confidence that past polls show progress and that Pheu Thai’s policies, such as the 20-baht flat-rate metro fare and affordable housing, resonate with Bangkok residents. Importantly, nearly 50% remain undecided, offering an opportunity for all parties, including Pheu Thai, to present policies meeting Bangkok voters’ needs. The party’s rise to second place is encouraging following Yotsanan’s recent introduction, and they will work hard to win back public support, believing their policies offer solutions and opportunities.

Open to feedback for improving work.

Mr. Yotsanan Wongsawat, Pheu Thai’s prime minister candidate, said poll results reflect public feedback. He always believes progress requires openness to both positive and negative input and strives to serve the people fully. They welcome all polls; where shortcomings appear, they are ready to improve. The party is motivated by positive polls, confirming the right path, and accepts criticism to do better. Most importantly, they understand people nationwide, with each district and area having unique problems. Communicating deeply so everyone understands the country’s direction is vital. The 2026 election is a critical turning point; the country cannot afford more delays. Rapid change is necessary.

Democrat Party pleased as Bangkok voters give another chance.

Mr. Pongsakorn Kwanmuang, Democrat Party spokesperson, thanked Bangkok residents for polls showing their party's support rising nearly fourfold. He said the poll results signify not just political numbers but a signal of trust and openness from Bangkok voters willing to give the party another chance. He sincerely thanked Bangkok people for their trust, which is a crucial encouragement for the party to work responsibly for the people’s hopes. He acknowledged many voters remain undecided and seek a genuine new hope party, ready to prove themselves through work.

Abhisit urges Thais to reject the old system.

Mr. Abhisit Vejjajiva, Democrat Party leader, spoke about a survey of over 30,000 people asked "What will Thailand no longer tolerate?" This online campaign reflects real-life stories revealing hope and pain across many dimensions. He candidly analyzed that structural problems stem from corruption and patronage systems, which block national development. These require solutions rooted in political ethics. He proposed positive approaches, emphasizing politicians must cooperate with citizens and use the election as a platform to declare rejection of the old system. This way, people will not merely endure day-to-day existence but will build a future of dignity and equality together.

Polt Toom declares the New Opportunity Party is not a bureaucratic graveyard.

In the morning at the New Opportunity Party headquarters, Mr. Jatuporn Buruspat, party leader, introduced prospective party-list and constituency MPs, including Mr. Saranyawut Saranyaket, former MP of Uttaradit from Pheu Thai. Former BTS Governor Mr. Praphat Jongsanguan joined the party as a member. Mr. Jatuporn joked in response to questions about whether their party is a graveyard for civil servants, saying a graveyard is a cemetery for the dead, but they are not dead. They aim to bring knowledgeable professionals to genuinely help Thai people. With experience and professionalism, having done what they could in government positions, they aspire to do more when in power to solve problems. They will change rhetoric from "if" to "do," transform personal interests into collective ones, and turn crises into new opportunities.

Fair Party reshuffles executive committee.

At the Royal River Hotel, the Fair Party (leader) held its 2/2025 annual general meeting, including electing new party executives and management. Mr. Pitipong Temcharoen, former party leader, chaired the meeting. The assembly elected Mr. Pitipong as party leader, Mr. Nantawit Wansan as secretary-general, Ms. Punyawit Temcharoen, daughter of Mr. Pitipong, as treasurer, and Mr. Korn Osatanukroh as party registrar. They also introduced Mr. Phatsak Osatanukroh as a prospective party-list MP candidate. The party’s three prime minister candidates are Mr. Pitipong, Ms. Punyawi, and Ms. Monwalee Patthonothai, daughter of former multi-term minister Mr. Mun Patthonothai. The party unveiled its slogan: "Fair Democracy."

Nearly 100,000 register for early voting on the first day.
