Channel 7HD presents the classic folk drama "Kaew Na Ma" in a new version from Sam Siaern Production, pairing a fresh lead couple chemistry "Mon Surasak" opposite "Kukkik Kotchakorn" inviting viewers to follow a story that proves true love beyond outer appearances, premiering on Valentine’s Day, 14 February.
To welcome the Day of Love, Channel 7HD invites folk drama fans to enjoy the exciting story of proving true love in "Kaew Na Ma," newly produced by Sam Siaern. Mon Surasak Suwanwong and Kukkik Kotchakorn star together for the first time, joined by Phuthanin Sinsomjai, Malis Cheysophon, Kusuma Tansakul, Akkarat Chittasiri, Chanaree Untasri, Natalie Stellath, Napop Prasoplap, Chatmongkol Bumphen, Rungrat Duangkwan, and many others.
"Kaew Na Ma" originates from an ancient folk tale (the cyclical tale) newly adapted by Prince Phra Chao Boromwong Ther Krom Luang Phu Wanet Narintharit (Prince Thinnakorn). The script was adapted by Buran, with television screenplay by Rarrarr (Ra-Ran-Ron). The production is overseen by Phairat Sangwaributr, produced by Siam and Sayom Sangwaributr, acting coached by Prathum Mitpakdee, assistant directing by Thanakorn Kriyasut, and directed by Phipatpon Apiwarasit and Sirawit Sangwaributr.
The story follows Phra Pinthong (Mon), who must take Kaew Na Ma (Kukkik) into the palace as promised after finding a kite. Upon seeing Kaew’s appearance, Phra Pinthong deliberately sends her on dangerous missions. Kaew tries to prove herself through love and loyalty, but the outcome remains to be seen. Mon and Kukkik invite fans to watch and discover the story.
Mon said, "This version updates the story to fit the modern era. I discussed my character with P'Louis (Siam Sangwiributr) and P'Lord (Sayom Sangwiributr). My role as Phra Pinthong is portrayed as a charming, youthful, and lively prince who speaks naturally, not in a slow royal manner. This is my first time starring opposite Kukkik as the lead pair. We've worked together before but never as a couple. Kukkik is lovely, easy to get along with, and very dedicated. While I had to adjust my character to be youthful and energetic, Kukkik’s role as Kaew Na Ma is even more demanding, with double or triple the energy. If anyone can’t picture Kukkik as Kaew Na Ma, I encourage you to open your heart and follow this version."
Kukkik said, "This version modernizes the script with a full range of elements: drama, action, comedy, and cuteness. Importantly, it’s a new role for me that fans haven’t seen before, involving dancing, singing, and traditional dance. This is also my first time leading opposite Mon. We've collaborated previously, but acting as lead pair was new. At first, Mon was a bit nervous, so I talked with him, planned our scenes, and told him, ‘Just act like this, don’t laugh.’ He did laugh sometimes, but it was fun. He’s very dedicated and gentlemanly. I hope everyone will open their hearts to this version—it’s definitely fun. I enjoyed it myself and want everyone to enjoy it too."
