The event 'TYPE TO MEET YOU | EP.1 TYPE TO SHINE YOURSELF: Discover Your Charm, Understand Your Type' has concluded. This academic bar x MBTI featured a relaxed lecture session by BeruArny Channel, experts in MBTI personality psychology.
For those who missed the event or want to understand themselves better, Thairath Plus will briefly introduce the overall concept of MBTI again, emphasizing that differences in personalities are not limitations but unique charms to build upon. This is presented with Bell Benjarat Chatchayanusorn and Ar Piyanuch Prompan, MBTI® Certified Practitioners from BeruArny Channel.
The key point to understand is that MBTI is a tool to measure personality, not behavior. However, behavior does affect how personality is expressed. For example, taking the MBTI test at different times or places might yield different results because one's behavior and mental state at that moment influence the answers.
Even though we may have different behaviors, personalities, or mental states, no MBTI type is better than another. Each type has unique differences and charms. The combination of four-letter codes reflects one's identity to foster self-understanding and open doors to understanding others.
If we understand what each letter represents, we find that every difference has charm, abilities, and strengths. For example, Introverts excel at listening and avoid judging, Extroverts have high energy and easily connect with others. Sensing types pay attention to details and reality, while Intuitive types excel at idea generation and creative thinking.
Thinking types decide efficiently, neutrally, and directly, unlike Feeling types who care about people and value those around them. Judging types excel at managing and planning, such as organizing trips or structures, whereas Perceiving types are flexible, good at problem-solving on the spot, adaptable, and somewhat unpredictable. However, an important observation involves Cognitive Functions — brain processes of receiving information, processing, and decision-making. Even types differing by one letter, like INFJ and INFP, have deep differences in many areas.
Looking through the four color groups, every type has its charm and cautions. For the green group, the Diplomats, their charm lies in valuing others and always thinking of them, but they should be cautious not to forget themselves and communicate their needs to others.
The purple group, the Analysts, are sharp, systematic, and open to new perspectives but should be careful with communication as others may not follow their thoughts easily. They should pause and check for understanding.
The blue group, the Sentinels, stand out for stability and care but must avoid letting their meticulousness and strictness stress themselves. Lastly, the yellow group, the Explorers, naturally adapt well but might get overly involved in things, losing focus and unsure about priorities.
While many question MBTI’s changeability, BeruArny cites research stating that MBTI cannot change but can be 'developed throughout life' through experiences and living.
In cases where people of the same type show different charms or expressions, BeruArny explains this arises from differences in upbringing, experiences, and life paths that shape us. Similarly, in relationships, even pairs considered 'Golden Pairs' differ in background, upbringing, or religion.
These differences don't mean incompatibility, nor does similarity guarantee relationship stability. It requires accepting strengths and weaknesses and understanding each other to adapt without losing oneself.
