This is a viral video in the European online space showing Hungary's incoming Prime Minister, Peter Markyár, meeting with the President of Hungary after achieving a landslide victory that ended 16 years of right-wing rule.
However, there was a surprising moment where Markyár secretly filmed the outgoing Prime Minister, Viktor Orbán, as he was walking and looking down while reading some documents on a balcony of a nearby residence.
Markyár wrote a sharp caption saying...
"Life is the greatest director. While the President boasts about his office (which he will soon have to clear out), I happened to glance at the outgoing Prime Minister walking on the adjacent balcony."
He also invited followers to guess what document Orbán was intently reading, offering these options:
a) A farewell speech
b) A domestic sports newspaper
c) A daily statement from President Donald Trump
At the end of the video, Markyár raised both hands and uttered the phrase "Abszolút filmszínház," echoing the global meme "Absolute Cinema" popularized by director Martin Scorsese.
Hungarian netizens explained the context, noting a trend of literally translating English memes, even though the word "Cinema" would more properly be translated into modern Hungarian as "mozi."
Yet, the incoming Prime Minister deliberately used the archaic term "filmszínház," meaning theater or playhouse, to add another layer of sarcasm.
Markyár's post not only elicited laughter from supporters but also reflected a new leadership style ready to use humor and accessible communication, signaling the start of a new era in Hungarian politics soon to officially begin.
