Fragments of Loneliness Invites Exploration of Alienation as Urban Isolation Erodes Relationships

In a city where everything moves relentlessly fast, we all feel alienated, with loneliness quietly building within. Even love can sometimes make us feel lonelier, and some relationships in life may eventually fade away.

Fragments of Loneliness is a stage play about two people living in a small apartment, trying to hold their relationship together amid urban life that constantly pushes them apart. Staying with someone becomes harder than expected; love is not a ready-made solution, and loneliness is not only for those who are physically alone.

The play reflects on the issue of 'loneliness in the big city,' showing it is not an experience of just one person but a shared condition of our time. Fragments of Loneliness serves as a medium for the audience to confront their own vulnerabilities through the story of two people afraid of being lost—to each other and to the world.

Written and directed by Wine Chakorn Chamai, starring Kann Sawatdiwat Na Ayutthaya and Phakmon Daraprarom, the play builds on research into urban life in Thailand and South Korea. It was selected for the international Bangkok International Performing Arts Meeting 2025 and was presented in a Play Reading format at Asia Play-reading 2025.
