Update on Anutin 2 Cabinet List: 35 Names Pass Strict Qualification Screening

Update on the Anutin 2 Cabinet list, scheduled for royal endorsement on 30 Mar 2024, following 35 names passing the rigorous qualification screening. Pheu Thai Party submitted three names, with Nikorn replacing Sutawan, while Dear Khattiya and Wisut were strongly excluded.

News from the Bhumjaithai Party reported that yesterday (27 Mar 2024), the backgrounds and qualifications of the prospective new ministers in the “Anutin 2 Government” have been completed, after only one issue arose concerning the qualifications of Ms. Sutawan Wangsupakitkosol.

The Pheu Thai Party submitted three backup names for background and qualification checks: Mr. Nikorn Somkalang, Mr. Wisut Chainarun, and Ms. Khattiya Sawatphol, all of whom passed. Ultimately, Mr. Nikorn was selected to be proposed as Minister of Social Development and Human Security to replace Ms. Sutawan.

Reporters stated that on Monday, 30 March 2024, the Prime Minister will hold a final discussion with the agencies responsible for vetting qualifications. If all goes smoothly without issues, the Prime Minister will present the list of all 35 people for royal endorsement according to procedure. The list includes:

  7. Mr. Yotsanan Wongsawat, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovation
  8. Ms. Suphajee Suthumpun, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Commerce
  9. Mr. Pradorn Prissanantakul, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office
  10. Ms. Supamas Isarapakdi, Minister attached to the Prime Minister's Office
