Today (28 June 2026), besides the Bangkok governor election, there was also an election held for the Pattaya mayoral position. The "Mayor of Pattaya" and the "Pattaya City Council" are the second special local administrative organizations after Bangkok where voters directly elect their executive leaders.

Reporters noted that the atmosphere during the Pattaya City Council and mayoral election was orderly, but voter turnout was quite sparse. There were 80,196 eligible voters across four constituencies with a total of 113 polling stations. Five candidates ran for mayor:

Candidate number 1: Ittiwat Vadhanasathorn from the People's Party.

Candidate number 2: Poramet Ngampichet from the 'We Love Pattaya' group.

Candidate number 3: Sakchai Tangho (Pattaya 2030 group).

Candidate number 4: Suaini Charoensuk (Independent).

Candidate number 5: Ittipol Nethiyakup Singkhornkaew (Independent).

There were predictions that two frontrunners were Poramet number 2, the recent incumbent mayor of Pattaya and son of Jaroon Ngampichet, a veteran politician, closely connected with the influential Khunpluem family in Chonburi, "Khunpluem"

and Ittiwat number 1, the youngest of three siblings from the Vadhanasathorn family. His eldest brother, Niran Vadhanasathorn, won the Pattaya mayoral election in 2004. Ittiwat was expected to receive support from the People's Party backers.

Most recent unofficial results from the websitevote.pattaya.go.thas of 21:40, with 96.46% of votes counted (109 out of 113 polling stations), showed a turnout of only 33,178 voters, or 41.37% of all eligible voters, as follows:

1st place: Candidate number 2, Poramet Ngampichet, with 19,319 votes.

2nd place: Candidate number 1, Ittiwat Vadhanasathorn, with 11,044 votes.

3rd place: Candidate number 3, Sakchai Tangho, with 1,033 votes.

4th place: Candidate number 4, Suaini Charoensuk, with 263 votes.

5th place: Candidate number 5, Ittipol Nethiyakup Singkhornkaew, with 182 votes.
