Check the flood risk from reservoir water levels as northern water routes approach Bangkok and its metropolitan area. Prepare to face another wave of water.
On 1 Oct 2026 GMT+7, the National Water Data Center website reported water levels in reservoirs and dams in several areas. The Thairath Online special news team is monitoring the northern water routes from dams to prepare for incoming water heading toward Bangkok and its metropolitan area.
Subhead: Monitoring northern water routes at five dams. Pasak Chonlasit Dam, Saraburi Province. Capacity: 872 million cubic meters. Water volume: 951 million cubic meters, which is 109% of the dam's capacity.
Kiu Lom Dam, Lampang Province. Capacity: 106 million cubic meters. Water volume: 99 million cubic meters, equivalent to 93% of the dam's capacity.
Bhumibol Dam, Tak Province. Capacity: 13,462 million cubic meters. Water volume: 8,905 million cubic meters, representing 66% of the dam's capacity.
Sirikit Dam, Uttaradit Province. Capacity: 9,510 million cubic meters. Water volume: 7,648 million cubic meters, equal to 80% of the dam's capacity.
Chao Phraya Dam, Chainat Province (a regulating dam). Capacity: 265 million cubic meters. Water discharge increased to 2,400 cubic meters per second. Its main role is to raise water levels in the Chao Phraya River to push water into irrigation canals on both sides by gravity. This controls and distributes water into irrigation systems and canals for agriculture without relying on large pumping stations.
